Let us introduce the civic association Oaza Hodonin, the centre of special services, whose mission is to improve life conditions of handicapped people, senior citizens, children and youths. That means their education, rehabilitation, help to find a job, free-time activities, sport, cultural and social fulfillment. The civic association was founded in October 1993. We are the group of handicapped people who do not want to wait until the society does something for us. We would like to contribute to solving handicapped people’s problems in the way of care apart from state institutions according to the pattern of the centres Beistestolen Helsesportsenter in Norway and Wenkenrode in Holland that we have visited ourselves. We do various activities. We organize educational, cultural and sport events for disabled and for public as well. We run sightseeing and wellness stays in our country and abroad. Our efforts are aimed at the widest integration of handicapped people into the majority society. Our crucial task is the construction of the barrier-free, multipurpose area in Hodonin – Rybare including an entrance buildings, six duplex houses and a campground with a roofed campfire area. The area serves not only seriously disabled people but for events of our association and other organizations.
Since we appreciate the funds from grants, foundations, sponsors and donators from general public, which our centre is financed from, all our members still do their jobs without pay. For some of us this occupation has become their life fulfillment and mission. So we thank all the sponsors and good-will people who support our efforts and who help us with our work selflessly. For you who would like to contribute to our activities and building we have set fund-raising campaign approved by Krajsky urad Jihomoravskeho kraje (South-Moravia Region Authority).
